The Computerworks addendum, references, and resume cover letter templates are designed to coordinate with our Computerworks resume template. The entire collection is flexible and adaptable for use by almost any person who works in IT or computer-related professions. Microsoft Word is REQUIRED.

Premium, Custom-Designed MS Word Resume Template for IT and Other Computer-Related Professions

Our Computerworks Collection includes a resume template for people who work in IT or computer-related professions. This could include computer repair technicians, programmers, software developers, computer systems analysts, network administrators, systems architects, IT support specialists, database administrators, hardware engineers, hardware technicians, software test engineers, systems administrators, and many other occupations.

People who work in IT and computer professions often need more room on their resumes to list specialized equipment skills, technology skills, and other specialized skills. The Computerworks Resume Template is a flexible resume template for computer professions that was created with these needs in mind.

The Computerworks coordinating documents bundle includes a resume addendum template that can be helpful for people who work in computer occupations to provide additional skills and qualifications that would not fit on the resume but may still be important. Resume addendums are optional, but if you use one you can either submit it along with your resume when you apply for a position or bring it with you to interviews as a leave-behind for the interviewer.

The coordinating document bundle also includes a coordinating references sheet. This document should never be submitted with your resume but is a very professional way to provide your references at an interview.

The green color scheme can easily be changed with just a few mouse clicks. The resume template and all the documents take on a whole new look when you change the colors.

This resume template may require more intermediate Microsoft Word skills than most of our templates because of the table format that has been used to set up the contributions section of each employment experience on the left, with the technical skills used called out in a table cell on the right. This format was chosen to ensure that the resume was as ATS-friendly and keyword-optimized as possible. However, it will look best when care is taken to make sure the content in the right column is no longer than the content in the left column. This can be easily accomplished with some careful editing. The format will also look best if care is taken to make sure the tables do not break across pages.

No matter what profession you work in, a standout resume can make all the difference and the Computerworks resume template will definitely help IT and computer professionals to do that. To see this resume template in action, take a look at this example CIO resume that was designed with it.

All of our resume template collections have been created specifically for Microsoft Word. They have not been tested using any other word processor software such as Google Docs or Pages.

Frequently Asked Questions

We can cover anything you need help with in relation to professional resume writing, from A to Z. My only agenda is to meet your needs and make sure that when our meeting comes to a close, you feel you have received the greatest value possible from our time together. Many colleagues want my help and guidance on challenging projects, and I provide advice in regard to the content, design, and strategy of the resumes they are working on. Others want help preparing for client consultations or handling particularly challenging clients. Professional development with the goal of achieving professional resume writing certification is another common topic.

When you are ready to book, you will be provided with my calendar, and you will be able to select a time and day that best meets your schedule. I do my best to make myself available on a variety of days and times, including occasional weekends and some nights and early mornings, in addition to regular office hours. The booking process is all online and fully automated, to make things as easy for you as possible.

Yes, please do! Our booking form includes space to describe how you want to use your session. If you have a specific resume or other documents you want me to review with you, please email them to me as far before the appointment as possible. That will give me some time to look at them ahead of time, so I can use our scheduled time together to provide my recommendations rather than read the documents while you wait.

Each consultation is scheduled for 60 minutes. Zoom is used so that I can share my computer screen with you during the consultation. This allows me to actually demonstrate recommended resume changes to you rather than just describe them. If you request it, I will record the consultation session and make it available to you for download, so that you may rewatch it later at your convenience.

No, not in the traditional sense. If we are working on a particular document and I see an error, I will certainly point it out to you. And, when I am recommending changes, I may actually make some of them for you on the document, as a way to demonstrate. But I will not proofread or edit your work in a thorough way. If you need help with those services, I will be happy to provide referrals.

Appearances matter, even with the written word, and how a document looks can make an immediate impact on the decision to read it or toss it aside. I train and mentor many excellent resume writers who have mastered the art of crafting highly effective resume content, but who lack the basic MS Word skills to create eye-catching, ATS compatible and uniquely branded documents. Distinctive Templates are the perfect solution for easily transforming well-written content into works of art that capture attention, generate interest, and motivate the recipient to read every word.

While I primarily write resumes from scratch for each of my clients, I have also used Michelle’s templates and received great feedback. I find the templates are especially helpful to organize my thinking for those clients who have an overabundance of important information that still must fit in an ATS-friendly, 2-page format without looking cluttered or disorganized.
When I was starting out with resume writing a little over a year ago, one of the most intimidating aspects was visual design of resumes. I didn’t want to have to learn graphic design to stand out—and with these templates, I didn’t need to! I was a little hesitant at first because I thought the templates might be too rigid or generic. In actuality, they are incredibly flexible and easy to play around with. I can customize any template with my client’s favorite colors in just two clicks—which means they never look exactly the same, even if I use them for multiple clients. Using the templates means I can just do what I do best—write—and then plug the text right into the appropriate section. It saves me literal HOURS of work and hassle. One of the best parts about purchasing from Michelle is that she is extremely responsive to questions. There’s a private Facebook group where she records screen share tutorials about how to switch up certain elements in the templates, and she's always been responsive to my emailed questions. My clients are completely thrilled with the unique, modern design of their resume, and I’m thrilled that I'm saving time and don’t have to learn graphic design!

I used the “Pivot” template to create a combination functional/chronological resume for my first big client. Her words when she saw the finished product: “THIS IS AMAZING!” I’m a writer, not a designer. My resumes aren’t unprofessional, but they needed a “wow” factor – and now they have it. Thank you, Michelle, for offering such affordably priced tools!
